Tallmadge -- The most-tenured member of the Tallmadge Board of Education, Valorie Prulhiere, announced Wednesday that she's resigning from service to the school district as of March 20.

The Board has 30 days from when her seat is vacated to choose a replacement. If the Board fails to do so within that time line, the Summit County Probate Court would assign a replacement within another 30 days.

Although Prulhiere's term expires Dec. 31, 2017, the Board member chosen to replace her will serve until the first of the year following the next election, which is Jan. 1, 2016.

Board members serve four-year terms.

Those who are interested in filling the vacancy can submit a one-page letter of interest with an attached resume (optional) to Board President Rick Kellar's attention at the school district's office at McCombs Education Center, 486 East Ave., Tallmadge, 44278. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. March 18.

Candidates must reside in Tallmadge.
