This pine in Tallmadge Cemetery, located on South Avenue and off Southwest Avenue, was knocked over by strong winds March 8. Mayor Dave Kline reports there were sustained winds of 30 miles per hour recorded in the city, with gusts reaching between 50 and 60 miles per hour. Five city employees worked until 10 p.m. addressing problems like downed trees on roadways as they were reported. Six roads were closed at some point throughout the day including Wring Drive, which was closed due to downed electric wires; power was restored to those residents about 3:30 a.m. March 9.
