, with an other drop-off locations at Acme Fresh Market, 600 South Ave.
and Giant Eagle, 205 West Ave.
Residents are asked to keep the medicines in their containers and mark out any identifying information.
The take-back is only for pills, capsules and liquids — syringes cannot be accepted.
For syringe disposal, call 330-926-5600.
Tallmadge Prescription Drug Take-Back Day enabled Tallmadge citizens to properly dispose of unused prescriptions reducing the threat of prescription drug abuse.
The Tallmadge Police Department is a permanent drop-off location for Summit County’s DUMP (Dispose of Unused Medications Properly) Program.
According to the DEA, unused prescription medicines are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.
The agency called the rates of prescription drug abuse, accidental poisoning from prescription drugs, and prescription drug overdoses “alarming,” and noted that many abused prescription drugs are obtained from home medicine cabinets of family and friends.
Raber and Kline hope the citizens will take advantage of this opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets.
