The city of Tallmadge will test the CodeRED Emergency Notification System May 17 at 10 a.m. to both residents and businesses. This activation will be delivered via telephone, TDD transmission, text message, email and the CodeRED mobile app.
It is important if a resident (or business) does not receive a message at this time to sign-up at www.tallmadge-ohio.org/coderedsignup.
The city strongly encourages residents, and those who work in Tallmadge, to sign-up for the CodeRED emergency alert system to receive critical communication notices issued for boil water advisories, evacuation notices, severe weather warnings, parking bans and many other incidences.
The test message will direct citizens to visit the city's website at www.tallmadge-ohio.org/coderedsignup to review their selected alerting options. Citizens entered in the system prior to 2017 will only receive weather alerts and should go to the website to review their alerting options.
Each user can customize his or her settings to receive alerts by telephone, email or text. CodeRED also allows mobile users to see any and all active alerts issued in Tallmadge through the CodeRED mobile app. To sign-up to receive to alerts, follow these instructions:
Visit the website at www.tallmadge-ohio.org/coderedsignup, enter your contact information, enter any additional information, select the type of alerts you want to receive and click on "verify" to review your information and create a managed account.
