David Creamer, senior vice president for administration at Kent State University, was named to the Midwestern Higher Education Compact Commission by Gov. Ted Strickland.

The commission exists to provide greater higher education services and opportunities in the Midwestern region. The commission also seeks to further the region's access to, research in and choice of higher education programs for the citizens of Ohio.

Creamer previously served as KSU's vice president for business and finance from 1998-2002. He also has served as vice president for finance and planning at the University of Alaska and senior vice president for business affairs at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.

A 1976 graduate of Ohio University, Creamer earned a master's degree from KSU in 1986 and a doctorate of higher education administration from KSU in 1990. He is a resident of Tallmadge.
