Methodist Men to hear political cartoonist

With the 2008 presidential campaigns under way, Methodist Men of Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Road, will hear Chip Bok, political cartoonist for the Akron Beacon Journal, cover his views of the candidates at a breakfast meeting scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Jan. 13.

All men and boys of the church are invited to attend.

Events at the church this week:

* Jan. 6 -- Kids Club, junior high youth, and pastor's class on Heaven, 4 p.m.; senior high youth, 5:30; Stephen Ministers, 7.

* Jan. 7 -- Quilters, 6 p.m.; trustees, 6:30.

* Jan. 8 -- Bible study on Jeremiah 7-11, 7 p.m.

* Jan. 9 -- Chancel Choir, 7 p.m.

* Jan. 10 -- Methodist Men's devotions and work group, 8 a.m.; Dorcas Circle, 9; Finance Committee, 6:30 p.m.; Worship Team, 7; On-Line Ringers, 7:15; Administrative Council, 7:30.

* Jan. 13 -- Kids Club, junior high youth, and pastor's Heaven class, 4 p.m.; The Rock worship service for youth, 5:30.

Youth programs

Kid's Club, Club Extreme and Junior High Youth Fellowship will be offered at Tallmadge United Methodist Church Sunday evenings from 4 to 5:30 p.m. through March.

The programs are open to all children 4 years of age and older.

According to church representatives, the programs feature "Fun, fellowship, Bible study, recreation, snacks, crafts, special events, family nights and more."

Queen of Heaven Church

Sunday breakfast

Queen of Heaven Church will host a Sunday Community Breakfast Jan. 6 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and the first Sunday of each month.

Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and accompaniments.

The cost is $2 for preschool children and $4 for all others.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration topic
of guest homilist

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration will be the topic of guest homilist the Rev. Victor Warkulwiz at Queen of Heaven Church during the 8 and 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Masses. Warkulwiz, a member of the Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament, comes from Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Philadelphia. Parishes in Canada and 36 states have heard his message about perpetual adoration.

Tallmadge Lutheran Church
Dancing Grace

A Dancing Grace class is being offered at Tallmadge Lutheran Church Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the gym.

The class, which is free and open to all ages, teaches different types of dances and ends with a scripture reading.

Shannon Dailey is the instructor.
