Methodist Men welcome political cartoonist

Methodist Men of Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Road, will hear Chip Bok, political cartoonist for the Akron Beacon Journal, speak at their breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 13.

All men and boys of the church are invited to attend.

Other events at the church this week:

* Jan. 13 -- Kids Club, junior high youth, and pastor's class on Heaven, 4 p.m.; The Rock worship experience for youth, 5:30.

* Jan. 14 -- Quilters, 6 p.m.; worship team, 7.

* Jan. 15 -- Bible study on Jeremiah 12-15, 7 p.m.

* Jan. 16 -- Chancel Choir, 7 p.m.

* Jan. 17 -- Methodist Men's devotions and work group, 8 a.m.; Dorcas Circle, 9; adult games night and worship team, 7 p.m.; On-Line Ringers, 7:15; Administrative Council, 7:30.

* Jan. 20 -- Kids Club, junior high youth, and pastor's Heaven class, 4 p.m.; senior high youth, 5:30.

Malone College
Choir to perform

First Congregational Church of Tallmadge will host the Malone College Choir Jan. 27 at the 10 a.m. worship service.

Lutheran schools
to host open house; offer $2,000 Scholarship

There are 13 Lutheran elementary schools and two Lutheran secondary schools within Cuyahoga, Medina and Summit counties, all dedicated to help shape students into Christ-centered, well-educated, and productive citizens and disciples. Families of many different faiths attend Lutheran schools.

On Jan. 27, all 15 Lutheran schools within the tri-county area will open their doors to prospective families from 1 to 4 p.m. and will offer a chance to receive a $2,000 scholarship, usable in grades K through 12 at any of the participating schools for the 2008-09 school year.

Bailey Road Christian Church

Bailey Road Christian Church will host Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages. Worship service is at 10:45 a.m. Just For Christ is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. JFC is music, games, Bible study and snacks for children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Cub Scouts meet every Tuesday at the church at 6:30 p.m. The choir practices every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. On the first and third Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m., "Happy Hands (a sewing and crafts group) meets. Girl Scouts meet every other Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Christian Women's Fellowship meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. The group is studying the book, "Bad Girls of the Bible" by Liz Curtis Higgs.

The church will soon have a new fellowship hall and kitchen. The church is located at 3200 W. Bailey Road, Cuyahoga Falls. For more information, call 330-929-2527.
