Police News: Pretzels, Gatorade stolen from concession stand in high schoolFebruary 24, 2008
Tallmadge -- On Feb. 16, a Tallmadge Band Boosters representative told police someone broke the window to the Devils' Den concession stand in the high school and removed six boxes of Gatorade valued at $120 and two boxes of frozen pretzels valued at $20. Damage to the window was estimated at $50. Theft Feb. 15. iPod taken from unsecured locker: A Tallmadge mother told police someone removed her son's $300 iPod from his pants pocket while left in an unlocked locker at the recreation center. Feb. 11. Akron girl charged with theft: Police arrested a 16-year-old Akron girl and charged her with theft after an employee of a Midway Plaza business reported seeing her leave the store without paying for diapers, T-shirts, baby wipes and baby socks with a total value of $23. She was transported to the Tallmadge Police Department where she was later released to her mother's custody. Criminal damage Feb. 15. Incidents of criminal damage were reported on Sunsetview Drive: On Feb. 15, a Stow man checking on his son's residence told police someone smashed his son's mailbox. Damage was estimated at $50. A resident told police sometime overnight someone threw eggs at his driveway and shot BBs into a "For Sale" sign in his front yard. Feb. 11. Vehicle's windshield wipers bent: An employee of an Osceola Avenue business told police sometime between 4 p.m. Feb. 9 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 12, someone bent her car's windshield wipers while it was parked in the company lot. Damage was estimated at $30. Domestic violence Feb. 12. Man charged with domestic violence. Police arrested a Tallmadge man and charged him with domestic violence after his mother called police to report he had hit her in the nose and left thigh. She was examined by Tallmadge EMS. He was booked at the Tallmadge Police Department and transported to the Summit County Jail.
