Tallmadge -- The owner of a Northeast Avenue business told police sometime between 9 p.m. March 9 and 6:50 a.m. March 10, someone entered the center bay of his three-bay garage, pried open the steel garage door by bending the lock mechanism, gaining access into his storage facility. According to the report, numerous pieces of landscape and lawn equipment, valued at $7,000, were removed. Damage to the door was estimated at $100. Police are investigating. Breaking and entering March 13. Cash taken from manager's office: The manager of a South Thomas Road trailer park told police sometime between 11 p.m. March 12 and 11 a.m., March 13, someone entered the office through a window with a faulty latch. According to the report, the office was ransacked and the phone cord was cut. Approximately $115 of the manager's personal money and $220 in petty cash was taken. Aggravated possession of drugs March 15. Men arrested for alleged methamphetamine possession: Police arrested two Akron men and charged them with aggravated possession of drugs and illegal assembly after the vehicle in which they were driving was pulled over on Southeast Avenue around 5 p.m. on a routine traffic stop. According to the report, the driver had a suspended driver's license and an outstanding warrant with Wayne County. During a search of the vehicle, officers reported discovering three bags containing a substance which tested positive for methamphetamine. The men were booked at the Tallmadge Police Department and transported to the Summit County Jail. Prohibitions March 16. Underage male cited for prohibitions: Police issued a summons for prohibitions to a 19-year-old Tallmadge resident after officers pulled him over for a routine traffic stop on Northwest Avenue at 10:16 p.m. and spotted a 24-ounce bottle of hard lemonade between his legs. Fleeing March 18. Brimfield man arrested for allegedly fleeing police: Police arrested a Brimfield man and charged him with fleeing after officers spotted him in a vehicle parked behind some businesses on Osceola Avenue at Tacoma Avenue, with his lights off. According to the report, there have been multiple thefts reported in this area. As officers approached, the man fled, not stopping for the cruiser's lights or siren. He was eventually pulled over and arrested. Burglary March 14. Prescription meds, keys removed from apartment: A North Thomas Road woman told police sometime between 10:30 a.m. March 10 and 10:30 a.m. March 14, while she was away from her residence staying with friends, someone entered her apartment through a sliding glass door with a damaged locking mechanism and removed a set of keys, approximately 100 pain pills and approximately 90 muscle relaxant tablets from her kitchen counter.
