ALBERT FOLGER MITCHELL World War II Naval veteran, enjoyed traveling Albert Folger Mitchell, 87, died March 16, 2008. Born in Ravenna, Mr. Mitchell lived in Tallmadge since 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy as petty officer first class, aviation structures and served as a blimp navigator during World War II and also served during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1985 from TRW as a metallurgical technician with 30 years of service. He served on the board of the Tallmadge Branch Library and enjoyed traveling and photography, was very avid about his rose garden and enjoyed being a member of the Quirk Euchre Club. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lavinna "Lee;" children, Stephen (Susan) Mitchell of Cincinnati, Susan (Paul) Abernathy of Stow, David (Lisa) O'Karma of Cuyahoga Falls, Judi (Steve) Makan of Akron, Larry (Cindy) O'Karma of Florida and Teresa (Dan) Noonan of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Laura Mason, Jennifer Clark, Matthew Mitchell, Kelly Baeslach, John and Brian Makan, Christopher, Marisa, Alexis and Kendra Noonan, Adam O'Karma and Kassidy O'Karma; great-grandchildren, Emily and Joshua Mason, Candace and Mitchell Clark, Abigail Mitchell and Ava and Lila Baeslach. Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2603 Benton St., Akron 44312 or Summa Hospital Oncology Floor, 525 E. Market St., Akron 44304.
