Kent man arrested for alleged fleeing, eluding

Tallmadge -- A Kent man was arrested for alleged fleeing and eluding March 24 after he drove off on his motorcycle after officers attempted to pull him over on Northeast Avenue for allegedly driving 64 mph in a 35 mph zone. According to the report, as soon as the officer approached the bike, the man fled at a high rate of speed, passing a car on the right and past a long line of cars on the centerline of the roadway. Tallmadge police terminated pursuit and called the Kent Police Department for assistance. The man was arrested after allegedly attempting to flee one of the Kent officers. He was booked and transported to the Summit County Jail.

Burglary

March 24. Electronics, jewelry removed from apartment: A Brittain Circle man told police sometime between the morning of March 21 and 4:30 p.m. March 24, someone entered his apartment and removed a $1,000 cell phone, a $500 game system, $350 worth of games and two gold rings valued at $300. According to the report, there were no signs of forced entry.

Theft

March 22. Sound system taken from vehicle: A Parker Lane woman told police sometime between 9 p.m. March 21 and 7 a.m. March 22, someone entered her unlocked vehicle by unknown means and removed two speakers valued at $250 and a $100 amp while the car was parked in her driveway.

March 19. Music, tool, pills stolen from vehicle: A Tallmadge resident told police sometime between 8:30 and 9 a.m., while his vehicle was parked at a South Avenue business, someone removed two CDs valued at $20, a $30 cordless drill, 90 pain pills valued at $119 and 90 pills for the treatment of diabetes valued at $30.

Criminal damaging

March 24. Slider broken with rock: A Morningview Drive man told police sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., someone broke the sliding glass door of his residence with a rock. Damage was estimated at $500. Police are following a lead.

Possession of drugs, driving under suspension

March 22. Couple cited for infractions: Police cited a Cuyahoga Falls woman for possession of marijuana and an Akron man for driving under suspension after officers pulled their vehicle over on South Avenue at 9:15 p.m. for driving without license plate lights. According to the report, the driver was cited for driving with a suspended driver's license and his passenger, the vehicle's owner, was charged with possession of drugs after a marijuana blunt was discovered in the vehicle.
