A North Thomas Road woman told police April 25 that her car, which was lent to a friend three days before, has not been returned. The woman said the friend borrowed the car shortly before 5 p.m. "to run to the store." Neither police or the car's owner have been able to get in touch with the borrower. According to police, the man, when found, will be charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Carrying a concealed weapon April 29. Gun and bullets found in truck: Police charged a 37-year-old Northwest Avenue man with carrying a concealed weapon after allegedly finding a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol, five boxes of shells and two lock-blade knives in his truck. Police were called to the home to investigate a report of a fight. The man was sitting in his truck, in the driveway when police asked him if he had a weapon. According to the report the man said "yes" and his truck was searched. The gun was under the driver's seat, police said. The bullets and knives were found during a subsequent search of the vehicle. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated April 27. Man allegedly weaving in traffic: A 45-year-old West Avenue man was arrested by police shortly before 1:30 a.m. after officers allege the man was "weaving in and outside his lane of travel and crossing over the yellow line" in the 400 block of Eastwood Avenue. Officers gave the man a field sobriety test, which they say he failed. He was transported back to the police station where he refused to take a breathalyzer test. The man was cited by police and released on a signature bond. April 23. Man flips car and flees scene of accident: A 32-year-old Tallmadge man was taken into custody after flipping his car once on South Munroe Road at 3:23 a.m. He fled from the accident and attempted to enter his mother's home at the 800 block of South Munroe Rd. He was placed under arrest and appeared intoxicated, but refused a breathalyzer test and treatment for minor injuries from the single-car accident. He was released on bond. Robbery April 26. Woman allegedly threatens guard: A 32-year-old Akron woman was charged with robbery shortly before 2:30 p.m. after a security guard at a Gilchrest Road super market said the woman took $152 worth of "various grocery items" and struggled with the guard outside of the store. The guard told police she allegedly saw the woman leave the store without paying for the items. When confronted outside, the woman allegedly struggled with the guard and two employees before police arrived. Drug possession April 28. Man arrested after random traffic stop: A 22-year-old Akron man was stopped during a random license plate inquiry at 2:55 a.m. Police found the man had a suspended license and warrant and proceeded to tow the vehicle. During a search of the car, police reported finding a glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue. The man was arrested and booked at the police department and released to a Brecksville police officer.
