Tallmadge junior golfer Matt Wellman did not advance to a Division I state tournament after scoring an 86 in district play Oct. 8 at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley.
The top four teams advanced to the state tournament and the top four individual from non-qualifying teams also qualified.
The visiting Tallmadge boys soccer team lost a 4-1 decision to Suburban League rival Green Oct. 8. Hussein Khalief found the net with 23 minutes, 49 seconds left in the first half to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead, but Green responded with four second-half goals.
The visiting Tallmadge girls soccer team lost a 5-1 decision to Green. Jamie Buehler scored the lone goal for the Lady Blue Devils.
