Roller derby league

schedule in Tallmadge

The Rubber City Rollergirls, Akron's non-profit roller derby league, is scheduled to host host their "First Annual Holiday Skate for the Kids."

The event is set to take place Nov. 12 at Rocky's Skating Center in Tallmadge.

The event will be entirely free to the children.

They will be treated to an evening of skating and Christmas ornament decorating.

Those ornaments will be hung on a Christmas tree that Rubber City Rollergirls will place in the Tree Festival at John S. Knight Center, proceeds from which will be donated to Akron Children's Hospital.

The Rubber City Rollergirls are looking for new derby girls and referees.

To find out how to join or to learn more about the league's upcoming events, visit the Web site at www.RubberCityRollergirls.com.
