JOSEPH R. KRACKER World War II veteran; enjoyed carpentry, gardening Joseph R. Kracker, 80, died April 20, 2009. Born in Akron, Mr. Kracker had lived in Tallmadge since 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy during the World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1991 from the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18 with 45 years service and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. Mr. Kracker enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles, gardening, playing bocce ball and carpentry, as he built his own home. Mr. Kracker was preceded in death by his son, James J. Kracker and sister, Betty Lutz. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosella (McCausland); daughters, Nancy Lawson of Green, Catherine (George) Antal of Fairlawn and Terri (Jerry) Schlosser of Cuyahoga Falls; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1236 Weathervane Lane, Akron 44313. Donovan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Comments
