Eric Maurice Smith, 51, died June 3, 2009.
Mr. Smith was born in Springfield and was a 1976 graduate of Tallmadge High School, but lived most of his life in Texas. He attended Tallmadge United Methodist Church and received his engineering degree from The University of Akron. For 30 years, Mr. Smith worked as a semiconductor engineer.
Mr. Smith is survived by two children, Dustin and Erica Smith and their mother, Diane Kellar, all of Texas; parents, Don and Gladys Smith of Tallmadge; sisters, Karen (Dan) Farrar of Florida, Beth (Herb) Smith of Maryland; brothers, Marc (Bonnie Goldstein-Smith) of Maryland, Brian (Caron) Smith of Cuyahoga Falls; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Donations may be made to Dr. Charles Mallet, 4007 James Casey Suites 200, Austin, Texas 78745 for his contributions to bipolar illnesses.
Donovan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
