WILLIAM R. BENDER

William R. Bender, 78, died June 15, 2009.
Mr. Bender was a lifetime resident of Tallmadge. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was employed with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 30 years. He was a member of the Mogadore Moose Club and VFW where he enjoyed singing and spending time with friends. According to his family, Mr. Bender was a great storyteller and jokester who found joy in bringing laughter to others.
Mr. Bender was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Matis; sister, Wilda Mueller; and brother, Jerry Bender. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet; daughters, Jennifer (Tom) Herman of Orlando, Fla. and April (Jason) Kuhn of Brunswick; grandchildren, Tom Herman, Jacci Herman and Trey Weber; brothers, Ronald (Millie) Bender of Akron and Jim (Loretta) Bender of Ravenna; many relatives and friends; and his dog, Schnickelfritz.
Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
