JACK W. JORDAN World War II veteran, enjoyed golfing, fishing Jack W. Jordan, 86, of Tallmadge, died Jan. 17, 2010. Born in Akron, Mr. Jordan lived most of his life in the Akron area. He served in the U.S. Army, 185th General Hospital during World War II and retired in 1986 from First National Bank of Akron after 30 years service, where he enjoyed helping people make their dreams come true. Mr. Jordan was a member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his knack for telling stories and his use of "colorful" language. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Clarence and Dorothea Jordan; brother, Andy F. Jordan; and his black lab, Charlie. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; daughter, Julie K. Jordan of Melbourne, Fla.; sons, Todd A. (Kathy) Jordan and Ross H. (Tonya) Jordan both of Tallmadge; and grandchildren, Zachary and Katie. Donations may be made to Warriors Journey Home Ministries, 85 Heritage Drive, Tallmadge 44278.
