The Tallmadge girls and boys swimming teams competed at the Suburban League Championships Jan. 29 at Wooster High School. The girls placed fifth and the boys finished sixth. But first-year Tallmadge head coach Julie Headrick wasn’t the least bit disappointed. “We had 20 individual s earn their best times of the season,” she said. “Seven of the nine relays finished with their best times of the season,” she said. “I am extremely proud of all the swimmers for their positive attitudes and achievements.” The Tallmadge swimmers tried not to focus on the competition during the meet. “We have talked all year about swimming our own races and focusing on improving times at each meet,” Headrick said. “The Suburban League Championships proved to be a meet where each swimmer found success. “These athletes have worked hard this season and their reward is the satisfaction of swimming their best races when it really matters.” The following Tallmadge swimmers competed:
