Marcella Frances Theresa Smith, 89, died March 24, 2008 at her home surrounded by her children after battling with cancer.
Mrs. Smith was born in Akron Nov. 13, 1918 and was a resident of Tallmadge for 61 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where she was a member of the Women's Guild and Madonna Study Club. She also was a member of Tallmadge AARP and Primetimers. Through the years, Mrs. Smith enjoyed planting and growing flowers, bowling, hiking, crocheting, playing Euchre and traveling. She worked as a hairstylist before raising her four children. She then worked as a sales associate at the M. O'Neil Co. for several years.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by husband, Homer Lee Smith; parents, John and Helena McHale; and sisters, Geraldine Skoczylas and Evelyne Archambeau. She is survived by children: sons, Ronald Lee (Dreama Lee) Smith and Kenneth Wayne Smith, all of Tallmadge; daughters, Linda Marcella Smith and Marilyn Louise Smith Locke, both of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Teresa Marie Vardon, Laura Lynn Bischof, Neil Ronald and Leigh Erin Smith, Andrew Blair, David Lee, and Stephanie Anne Locke; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
