April 25 at Tangier
Tallmadge Athletic Booster Club will host its annual auction "Jeans & Jewels" fundraiser April 25 at the Tangier. The $40 per person or $75 per couple cost includes open bar, dinner and silent/live auctions. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
"This is our third year sponsoring the auction and we are really excited about it," said Athletic Booster President Kevin Armbruster. "Our turnout and proceeds exceeded our expectations before and we are anticipating some additional needs for our student athletes next school year." Boosters fundraiser to help with new uniforms, equipment, banquets and awards for high school and middle school athletes and Armbruster said proceeds from this auction will be also be used to enhance the new facilities at the new high school, scheduled to open in the fall.
Boosters are busy gathering items for the auction and Armbruster mentioned some that he suspects will generate great interest among bidders: preferred student parking spaces, vacation condos, Indians tickets, restaurant dinners and overnight stays, front-row seats at graduation, Principal for the Day honors, as well as prom, party, college and other themed baskets. All high school and middle school sports teams are contributing items to be auctioned.
The "Jeans & Jewels" auction is Tallmadge Athletic Booster Club's major fundraiser with funds generated spent on student athletes in grades 7 through 12. Athletic Boosters contributed more than $50,000 in 2007 for needed athletic items.
