The following programs are being offered by the Tallmadge Recreation Center:

Summer brochures

Tallmadge Recreation Center Summer program brochures are scheduled to be mailed by May 1. The brochure will also be on the city's Web site at www.tallmadge-ohio.org.

Summer camps

Summer camps at Lions Park. For children ages 3 through 13. Session I runs from June 9 through July 11; Session II runs from July 14 through Aug. 15, Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Extended care is available for children ages 5 through 13 before and after camps. Information packets are available at the recreation center.

Golf lessons, league

Golf lessons and league for children ages 10 and older are welcome. Practice and play Thursday mornings at Sunny Hills Golf Course from June 12 through Aug. 7 for $129 per golfer. Includes instruction, tips and 9 holes of golf. Participants must take their own clubs. Spots are limited.

Summer tennis lessons

Tennis lessons start June 9. Anyone age 3 and older is welcome to play two times per week. Register at the recreation center.

Birthday parties

Themed birthday parties may be scheduled throughout the summer. Make plans to play at the re center, rain or shine. Party includes food, beverage, one-hour court or field time; the party room for two hours; and all paper products. For themes and prices call 330-634-2349.

KIDS Place Preschool

Kids Instructional Development Series runs on a monthly basis at the rec center and each session builds on progression. The program is designed to prepare children ready for kindergarten. Program follows the Tallmadge school calendar. For more information, ask for Joanne Boyd.

Outdoor basketball camp

Summer outdoor basketball camp with Greg Whitmer. Boys and girls going into grades three through six may join this Thursday morning basketball camp offered at the Lions Park basketball court. The program runs Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. from June 10 through July 14. Includes instruction and T-shirt.
