May 6, 2007 " After winning the April season opener, Jacob McWhirter of Tallmadge, OH driving for Victory Racing backed it up by claiming his second pole of the year along with his second checkered flag in the Barberton Kart Racing Association 80cc Cadet class. The Cadet class is for 8 to 12 year olds and is run on a road course.

Jacob, age 9, is a lifelong resident of Tallmadge and attends The Chapel where he is active in Boys Brigade. He thanks his sponsors " Brown Derby Roadhouse, McWhirter & Associates, Markernet " XS Energy Drink, Seckinger Insurance Agency, Polymer Valley Chemicals and Redmon Funeral Home. He also thanks his crew " Dad, Mom and sister Katelyn.

Jake's next race will be at Circleville Raceway Park in the first race of the Great Lakes Sprint Series. This will be his first time running in a World Karting Association Regional race and he is looking forward to just experiencing the excitement of competing at such a large event.
