Tomei places ninth

The Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary girls cross country team won the Division II state title with 98 points Nov. 7 at Scioto Downs in Columbus.

St. V runner Emily Tomei, a Tallmadge resident, earned All-Ohio honors after placing ninth out of 148 runners with a time of 19 minutes, 23.22 seconds.

 

Woodridge rolls

The Woodridge football team earned a 49-28 victory over Martins Ferry in a Division IV regional quarterfinal game Nov. 7 on the road.

With the win, sixth-seeded Woodridge (9-2) earned a date with second-seeded Girard Nov. 14 at Blue Streak Stadium in Uniontown. Results were not available at press time.

Play for Eagles

Events scheduled

The first annual Tri-County Outdoors Show is scheduled to take place Feb. 13 and 14 at the Alliance National Guard Armory.
