Korean War Army veteran, loved to garden, grandfather
Chancey "Hal" Gorrell, 84, died Aug. 22, 2013.
Mr. Gorrell was born in Ravenswood, W. Va., Feb. 13, 1929. A resident of Tallmadge since 1966, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Gorrell loved to garden and was known as someone who could fix anything. He was always the first one his sons called whenever they needed help, whether it be a leaky faucet or a sick child. He had a servant's heart, always willing to help others.
Mr. Gorrell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty; and sons, Rick (Ellen), David (Tanya), Jim, and Mark; grandchildren, Tiffany, Dan, Nate, Brittany and Brandon; sisters, Margaret Shaw and Ollie Yohey; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Kulla and June Gorrell.
