Clara Strickler, 101, of Macedonia, died March 6, 2014.
Mrs. Strickler was born in Macedonia Dec. 19, 1912, and lived all her life in the area. She was a member of the Out To Lunch Bunch, a former member of Nesca in Twinsburg, Northfield Macedonia Historical Society and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) for 10 years. She also was a volunteer driver for Mobile Meals and a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Strickler attended Kent State University and was a third grade teacher at Roosevelt School in Springfield Township from 1935-37. She was later employed by the M.F. Fawcett Co. of Macedonia and the Ohio Tool Co. of Richfield.
Preceded in death by her parents, Claire and Louise Robinson; brothers, Jay and Roy; husband, George F. Strickler, she is survived by her daughter, Karen (Fred) Viall; granddaughters, Lisa (Jeff) McKenna all of Tallmadge and Mary (Troy) Simone of Akron; great-grandsons, Mason, Max and Jake.
At Mrs. Strickler's request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of the family at Northfield Macedonia Cemetery.
Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
