Miriam P. Everhart, 92, died June 2, 2014.

Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Mrs. Everhart lived in the Tallmadge area for more than 70 years. She worked as an administrative secretary for the Akron Public Schools and also an inspector for the Ohio Inspection Bureau. She had been a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge for many years and served as a Stephen Minister for more than 10 years. A member of the Tallmadge Country Study Club and president of Insurance Women of Akron OAPSE, Mrs. Everhart was the first woman president of Tallmadge Historical Society. A member of the Antique Toy Collectors of America, she collected miniature lamps, toys and antiques. She enjoyed guiding house tours at Stan Hywet and knitting for Ohio Mart. An avid world traveler, Mrs. Everhart was always eager to learn more and share her thoughts.

Preceded in death by husband, Richard; parents, Sylvanus and Gertrude Pennell; son-in-law, Major Henry Conte; sister, Eudorah Schaffer; and brother, Wilford Pennell, she is survived by her daughters, Elaine Conte of Las Vegas, Nev.; Sandra Barabas of Tallmadge; Carman (Richard) O'Leslie of Simpsonville, S.C.; son, George (Susan) Everhart of Batavia, N.Y.; sister, Sylvia (John) Roth of Cincinnati; brother, Joseph Pennell of Chesterfield, Va.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at the Tallmadge Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
