Former legal secretary for city of Tallmadge, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church member,
Angelin Kariotis, 90, died July 18, 2014, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Monessen, Pa., she had lived in Tallmadge since 1956. Mrs. Kariotis retired in 1989 as a legal secretary with the city of Tallmadge. She was an active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she served on the Board of Trustees and as treasurer. She was an active member and past President of Philoptochos, a member of Daughter's of Penelope and active with the Good Samaritans. She enjoyed her family and many friends and was known as "Yiayia" to all.
Mrs. Kariotis is survived by husband of 66 years, Anthony; son, Bob (Patricia) Kariotis of Lower Burrell, Pa.; daughter, Kathryn (James) Vanderwist of Solon; grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony and Peter Kariotis and Michelle, Timothy, and Bobby Vanderwist; and five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Connor, Miley and Leila. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stelios and Eleni Gerazunis; and brothers, Michael Gerazunis and Anthony Geris.
