Longtime resident, Air Force veteran, Crossroads Bible Fellowship pastor emeritus

Pastor William L. Cord, 71, died July 9, 2014.

Born in Akron, Pastor Cord had lived in Tallmadge for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force and two years in the Naval Reserves. He was a self employed contractor and pastor emeritus of Crossroads Bible Fellowship and also served as pastor of Eden Park Baptist Church in Portsmouth. He spent his life serving God, loving his family and ministering to everyone he met.

Preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ruby Cord; sisters, Marcelline, Geraldine, and Arlene; grandson, Levi, Pastor Cord

is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Shari (Chris) Hopkins, Melissa (David) Ross, Tracey (Angelo) Pezzaniti and Ashley (Branden) Rodgers; sons, Adam (Nora) Cord, Aaron Cord and Jeremy (Sara) Cord; 21 grandchildren; sisters, Sandra (Bob) Kline, Shirley Cord, and Patti (Clyde) Willard; brother, Larry (Sarah) Cord; and a large extended family.

Memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Bible Fellowship, 737 George Washington Blvd., Akron, OH 44312.

Donovan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
