The city of Twinsburg recently announced a program that centers on a special display of American Pride in Twinsburg -- known as the Parade of Flags.
Residents and area businesses are invited to join in the parade of flags, which will be conducted on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Patriot's Day and Veterans Day.
Here's how it works. You can honor America with a Parade of Flags, approved by the city of Twinsburg, which will place a 3' x 5' American flag in the front yard of your home or business at each of the five holidays. Flags are removed to be stored properly and respectfully between holidays.
The city will place flags in tree lawns where present. A buried pipe will be installed in lawns for easy placement of the flag staff and a cap to protect the pipe when not in use. Both the American flag and its staff remain the property of Parade of Flags, L.L.C.
Proceeds from the Parade of Flags support community and veterans projects along with the not-for-profit groups that partner on this event.
For more information, contact the Parade of Flags for an application at www.ParadeOfFlags.org. There is a $30 application fee.
The organization's mailing address is Parade of Flags, P.O. Box 431, Twinsburg, OH 44087.
Subscriptions are also appreciated as gifts in honor or in memory of a special person, or just to help out a neighbor so everyone has a flag to display.
