Note of Thanks: Tallmadge Post Office says 'thanks' for recent 'Stamp Out Hunger' donations

Published:

On May 10, across this country,

letter carriers and the U.S. Postal Service conducted their annual "Stamp Out Hunger" campaign.

As a Tallmadge letter carrier, I can say the Tallmadge Post Office was happy to be part of such a worthwhile cause.

Many children rely primarily on school to receive nutritious meals. However, summer vacation is almost here, and recent donations will be greatly needed by these children.

All donations remain in the local area to help residents in need.

Through the generosity of Tallmadge residents, we exceeded the amount of food collected last year.

In fact the Akron, Tallmadge and Mogadore areas collected 31,295 pounds of food for those in need -- an increase of 976 pounds from last year. None of this would have been possible without overwhelming public support.

We wish to say "thanks" to all who were able to participate and we hope they will continue their support next year.

Scott L. Hileman, Tallmadge
