Dogs unearth human skull, jawbone
Youngstown -- Police say dogs have unearthed a human skull and jawbone in a Northeast Ohio neighborhood, and the search is on for other human remains.
Youngstown police Lt. Douglas Bobovnyik said investigators believe the jawbone and skull found last month are part of the same skeleton, but they have not been able to confirm it. The (Youngstown) Vindicator reports that since the initial discoveries were made by neighborhood dogs, investigators are considering attaching GPS devices and using the dogs to locate the other remains.
Police cadaver dogs trained in searching for decomposing human flesh have been brought in, but they had no success. Investigators are waiting on the coroner's office to try to make an identification based on the skull.

Eight dogs die in house fire in Canton
Canton -- Authorities say eight dogs were killed in a Northeast Ohio house fire overnight.
WEWS-TV 5 reports that the three people who lived at the house in Canton weren't home at the time of the fire early March 7, and nobody was hurt. Firefighters at the scene said several space heaters were found inside, and they may have caused the fire.
The house was a total loss, and the American Red Cross was assisting the residents.
