Library book sale April 27-29 The Tallmadge Library Association's next book sale will take place April 27 through 29. Friends of the Library members are invited to the presale on April 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. Memberships will be available at the door.
Summit Metro Parks Spree For All begins May 1 Spree For All, the two-month Summit Metro Parks hiking series on flat and easy trails, begins May 1 and continues through June 30.
The second annual Four-Leaf Clover Run and Family Fun Run, sponsored by Four-Leaf Clover Inc., will again benefit local charity partners, Project Ed Bear and The Stephen A. Comunale Jr. Family Cancer Foundation. In addition to these two organizations, this year Four-Leaf Clover Inc.
AARP Driver Safety Course to be offered May 25 The AARP Driver Safety Program will be offered at the Tallmadge Community Center, 80 Community Road, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

Hundreds of excited children raced to gather plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes at the city's annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Tallmadge Recreation Center April 15. A familiar long-eared fellow hopped into the festivities to visit with kids and pose for photos.
As they do every year, members of the Tallmadge Primetimers sit down with Tallmadge High School student -- this year, the junior class officers -- to fill thousands of brightly-colored plastic eggs with candy.
USPS food drive set for May 13 The United States Postal Service will host its annual food drive May 13. This is the 25th year for the "Stamp Out Hunger" Canned Food Drive. The event is supported by the USPS and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Equitable Federal Credit Union is hosting a free community shred day on April 29 from 9 to noon at its Akron branch, 1889 Brittain Road. The public is invited to bring documents that they would like to be shredded. There is a 10-box limit. There will be refreshments available.
The Tallmadge Lions Club and the Tallmadge Middle School Builders Club worked together at the Lions Spaghetti Dinner March 11. The Tallmadge Lions decided at their February meeting to donate all proceeds from the dinner to the Builders Club.
This year's Tallmadge Community Expo, which took place April 8 at the Tallmadge Recreation Center, brought in around 2,000 visitors, according to Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Terry Bumpas.
Tom Vince will be the featured speaker at the Tallmadge Civil War Society meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. April 18 at the Old Town Hall on Tallmadge Circle.
