The engagement of Kimberly Ann Shanafelt, daughter of Steve and Teresa Shanafelt of Tallmadge, to Matthew Lee Jones, son of Elaine Jones of Akron and Owen Jones of Brunswick, is announced.
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Field High School and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Kent State University in 2008. She is employed as a registered nurse in the electrophysiology department at Akron General Medical Center.
Her fiancé is a 2002 graduate of Lake High School and has an associate's degree in computer drafting from the University of Akron. He works at All Pro in Alliance.
A May wedding in Kent is being planned.
