Cipa helps Ashland
advance to playoffs
Tallmadge graduate Johnathan Cipa is the starting right guard for the Ashland University Football Team that advanced to the NCAA Division II Playoffs.
The Eagles, who were the second seed in Super Region 4, were scheduled to play West Texas A&M in the Region 4 semifinals Nov. 24. Results were not available at press time. Cipa, a 2012 Tallmadge graduate, is the son of Christopher and Christine Cipa of Tallmadge.

Players honored
Seven members of the Tallmadge football team were named to the Associated Press Ohio Northeast Inland All-District Division II team.
Jacob Wood (tight end), Joe Lowery (offensive lineman) and Anthony Gotto (quarterback) were named to the first team. Scott Noel (offensive lineman), Kody Edwards (kicker) and Daniel Ray (defensive lineman) were named to the second team. Logan Banks (linebacker) received honorable mention.

Watch regional games
The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the Mid-American Conference have been selected to host the 2015 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional. Cleveland State University will serve as the event’s co-host. The event is scheduled for March 26 and 28 at Quicken Loans Arena.
The event will feature a doubleheader March 26 and the Regional Championship game March 28.
