"It was the first home meet of the season against one of our largest competitors and our swimmers did exactly what they're trained to do: Never give up," Tallmadge head coach Ryan Miller said. "We knew going into this meet it was going to be a tough matchup due to numbers, but it's moments like the men's 400 freestyle relay that define our team. It was the last race of the night and every member of our team was behind the block cheering them on. That's what it's all about -- helping each other out and improving."
Placing second for the Tallmadge boys were Sincel in the 50 freestyle (25.71) and Kenny in the 100 freestyle (57.83). The girls' 200 medley relay of Sam Rhine, Brittany DiFiore, Jen Deaton and Tori Ruggles also placed second.
Both teams were scheduled to swim at the Chardon Hilltopper Invitational Dec. 8. Results were not available at press time.
They are set to host Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Dec. 10 before heading to Barberton Dec. 12. Both meets are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
