The host Tallmadge boys bowling team earned a 2,270-2,224 victory over Akron Archbishop Hoban Jan. 30 at Eastgate Lanes.
Nick Krainess led the Blue Devils (11-2) with scores of 185 and 239 respectively, and Jeremy Krainess finished with a score of 222. Also bowling for Tallmadge were Ryan DeBord (184-198), Andre Gilles (161-177) and Kody Stauffer (146-119).
Tallmadge finished 12th out of 15 teams with a score of 3,543 at the G-Men Classic Jan. 26 at Sky Lanes in Garrettsville.
Stow-Munroe Falls won the competition with a score of 3,973. Fairport Harding (3,938) and Brunswick (3,892) finished second and third, respectively.
Brendon Haven had the high game (223) for the Blue Devils. He also rolled games of 182 and 150, respectively.
Also bowling for Tallmadge were DeBord (148-213-182), Gilles (195-207), Nick Krainess (182-203), Stauffer (147-189) and Jeremy Krainess (169).
Host Tallmadge posted a 2,168-1,989 victory over Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Jan. 24 at Eastgate Lanes in Akron.
Nick Krainess led the Blue Devils with scores of 228 and 204, respectively, and Gilles also fared well with scores of 193 and 153. Jeremy Krainess added a 177.
The junior varsity team was scheduled to participate in a JV tournament Feb. 2 at Midway Lanes in Akron. Results were not available at press time.
The varsity team is set to bowl against Woodridge Feb. 4 at Legend Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls. Bowling is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m.
Tallmadge is set to compete in the Greater Summit County Conference Tournament Feb. 9 at Midway Lanes. Bowling is scheduled to begin at noon.
