Boys fall to Woodridge

The Tallmadge boys bowling team fell to 11-3 after losing a 2,423-2,336 decision to Woodridge Feb. 4 at Legend Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls.

Ryan DeBord led the Blue Devils with scores of 216 and 214, respectively. Also faring well were Jeremy Krainess (161-198), Nick Krainess (147-201), Andre Gilles (176-164) and Brendon Haven (170-149).

The Blue Devils were scheduled to bowl against Akron East Feb. 7 at Midway Lanes in Akron. They were set to remain at Midway Lanes for the Greater Summit Conference Tournament Feb. 9. Results of those matches were not available at press time.

Division I sectional play is scheduled to take place Feb. 15 at Midway Lanes. Bowling is set to begin at noon.

Umpire class coming up

The Portage County Umpires Association will host an OHSAA baseball umpire class in February and March

It Iis scheduled to run for five weeks, meeting twice a week. It is required for the OHSAA exam. Interested candidates should call Dave O'Donnell at 330-274-8607.
