The Tallmadge boys bowling team finished sixth with a score of 2,759 at the 15-team Greater Summit Conference Tournament Feb. 9 at Midway Lanes in Akron.
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy won the tournament with a score of 2,922. Rounding out the top five were Green (2,913), Walsh Jesuit (2,861), Ellet (2,855) and Akron Firestone (2,764).
The Blue Devils finished with scores of 937 and 921, respectively, in the first two games and were in second place. Tallmadge posted scores of 135, 153, 139, 130, 184 and 160 in the baker games.
Brendon Haven had the high series (397) with games of 196 and 201. Ryan DeBord rolled the high game (215). He also bowled a 180.
Rounding out the top five for Tallmadge were Nick Krainess (193-174), Kody Stauffer (187-180) and Andre Gilles (181).
The Blue Devils earned a commanding 2,660-1,935 victory over Akron East Feb. 8 at Midway Lanes. With the win, Tallmadge finished 12-3 overall and 12-2 in the Greater Summit Conference.
The total score was a team record and the Blue Devils also set a record with a three-game baker series of 677.
Stauffer led Tallmadge with scores of 242 and 180, respectively.
Also competing for the Blue Devils were Jeremy Krainess (212-204), DeBord (206-177), Nick Krainess (210), Haven (189) and Gilles (185).
Tallmadge is scheduled to compete at a sectional tournament Feb. 16 at Midway Lanes. Bowling is set to begin at noon.
