Spring junior league
offered in Kent
A spring junior golf league is set to begin April 3 at Maplecrest Golf Club in Kent.
The league is for beginners and advanced golfers, ages 6 to 17. There will be four divisions for theplayers.
They are three holers, five holers, nine holers rookie and nine holers advanced White (boys) and Red (girls).
A 30-minute professional instruction clinic is expected to be given each week before league play begins.
uniors will play from age-appropriate tees.
There will be six weeks of league play, weekly proximity prizes, one free private lesson and a season-ending awards banquet.

Soccer referees sought
The Ohio-North State Referee Committee will host several entry level referee clinics in the coming week.
Anyone who would like to be a professional official or just help out with youth games in this area, attending a novice clinic is the place to start. The following clinics are scheduled:
• March 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Cornerstone Driving School, South Akron
A clinic also will take place in the Cuyahoga Falls/Hudson area at a date and time to be announced.

Coaches needed
A couple of schools are looking for coaches for upcoming seasons.
Kenston needs varsity assistant and freshman football coaches. A cover letter and resume should be sent to head coach Jeff Grubich at coachgrubich@hotmail.com. The deadline is April 1.
