The host Tallmadge football team improved to 2-1 with a 36-13 victory over Akron Garfield Sept. 13 at Rossiaky Stadium.
The Blue Devils took control with 16 unanswered points in a span of 2 minutes, 12 seconds in the third quarter.
That spurt gave Tallmadge a 26-0 lead with 8:34 left in the quarter.
It all started when Joe Siesel recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff.
The Blue Devils recovered at the Golden Rams' 25-yard line and punched it in five plays later when tailback Bobby Clark found the end zone from four yards away. Kicker Justin Stevenor added the first of his four point after tries.
Less than two minutes later, Quinntin Teeling recovered another fumble for Tallmadge near midfield.
Quarterback Joseph Vassalotti immediately took advantage of the turnover when he completed a 43-yard touchdown pass to Logan Ray.
One play later, the Blue Devils got two more points when Garfield's Travontae Thomas was tackled in the end zone.
Clark also had a three-yard TD run in the first quarter and Stevenor kicked field goals of 24 and 22 yards, respectively, for Tallmadge.
Latrele Moore concluded the scoring for the Blue Devils with a 75-yard kickoff return.
Quarterback Jatairis Grant had a 61-yard TD run and a two-yard scoring run for the Golden Rams (1-2).
Tallmadge outgained Garfield 217-203 on the ground and 103-0 in the air. Clark led the Blue Devils' rushing attack with 119 yards on 21 carries.
