The Tallmadge boys cross country team has its first league championship in 41 years.
The Blue Devils easily won the eight-team Suburban League Championship with 35 points Oct. 12 at Goodyear Metro Park in Akron.
Nordonia placed second with 64 points and Green finished third with 67 points.
Patrick Ferguson led the Blue Devils with a first-place time of 16 minutes, 25 seconds. A total of 50 runners competed.
Brian McGovern was next for Tallmadge in fourth (17:01) and teammate Nick Murray placed eighth (17:09).
Also finishing in the top 10 for the Blue Devils was Chris LaMancusa, who placed 10th (17:14).
Rounding out the top five for Tallmadge was A.J. Zesiger (12th, 17:39).
