Big fourth quarter leads Tallmadge girls hoops team past Highland

The host Tallmadge girls basketball team improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the Suburban League after posting a 58-45 victory over Highland Dec. 11 at James O. Maddox Court.

The Lady Blue Devils outscored the Hornets (2-4, 0-3) 24-15 in the final eight minutes.

Tallmadge converted 21 of 32 foul shots and had three players score in double figures.

Mary Ryan had 14 points, six steals and three assists and Olivia Ayres also had 14 points for the Lady Blue Devils.

Joanna Catalano added 13 points and five rebounds and Kirsten Allen finished with nine points and three assists for Tallmadge.

Kelsey Rice had a strong all-around game for the Lady Blue Devils with five points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.

Marlee Profitt led Highland with a game-high 17 points and Madison Less and AnnaRose Wiencek added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Hornets.
