Bowlers fall to rival Nordonia in Bedford

The Tallmadge boys bowling team fell to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Greater Akron Conference after losing a 2,723-2,613 decision to Nordonia Dec. 6 at Roseland Lanes in Bedford.

Jeremy Krainess had the high series (448) with games of 213 and 235, respectively, and Dan Speelman had the high game (244) for the Blue Devils. Speelman added a 177.

Also faring well for Tallmadge were Austin Moore (215-174), Andre Gilles (212-176) and Brendon Haven (135-207).

The Tallmadge girls bowling team fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Greater Summit Conference after losing a 1,978-1,828 decision to Nordonia Dec. 6 at Roseland Lanes in Bedford.

Jenny Kiss had the high game with a 212 for the Lady Blue Devils. She also rolled a 124 for a 336 series. Madison Stock added games of 157 and 160, respectively, for Tallmadge.

Both teams were scheduled to face Greater Akron Conference rival Wadsworth Dec. 12 at Charger Lanes in Norton before heading to Midway Lanes in Akron to face conference foe Akron North Dec. 13.

They are set to compete at the Lake Invitational Dec. 14. Results of all those competitions were not available at press time.

Tallmadge is scheduled to compete in the Nordonia Classic Dec. 15 at Roseland Lanes. Play is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Both teams are scheduled to bowl against conference rivals Akron Archbishop Hoban Dec. 17 at Stonehedge Family Fun Center in Akron and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Dec. 19 at Riviera Lanes in Akron. Both matches are set to begin at 4 p.m.
