Bowlers compete in

Holiday Tournament

The Tallmadge boys bowling team finished with a score 2,965 at Youngstown State University Holiday Tournament Dec. 28 at Camelot Lanes.

Andre Gilles led the Blue Devils with a 540 series. He rolled games of 210, 127 and 203, respectively. Brendon Haven had the high game (224) for Tallmadge. He also bowled scores of 136 and 153.

Also contributing for the Blue Devils were Joe Putaturo (117, 130 and 162), Austin Moore (153, 153 and 121) and Jesse DeRemer (122 and 146). Tallmadge's Jeremy Krainess did not participate due to an illness.

The girls finished with a score of 2,511.

Madison Stock led the Lady Blue Devils with scores of 135, 126 and 165, respectively. Also faring well for Tallmadge were Annie Drechsler (130, 128 and 158), Jennie Kiss (163, 110 and 129) and Alexis Steen (114 and 131).

Both teams were scheduled to participate in the Legend Lanes Tournament Jan. 4 in Cuyahoga Falls. Results were not available at press time.

They are set to bowl against Greater Summit Conference rivals Akron Buchtel Jan. 7 at Riviera Lanes in Fairlawn and Akron Ellet Jan. 8 at Turkeyfoot Lanes in Akron. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

The boys are set to compete against Barberton Jan. 11 at Midway Lanes in Akron. Play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Referee clinics offered

The Akron Soccer Referees Association is expected to offer new referee clinics in January, February and March in the greater Akron area.
