The Tallmadge boys basketball team beat a longtime nemesis Jan. 10.
The Blue Devils improved to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the Suburban League after posting a 54-43 victory over Green on the road.
It was Tallmadge's first win over Green since the 2008-09 season.
The Blue Devils scored the last 13 points of the first half to take a 28-15 lead. Tallmadge outscored the Bulldogs (6-3, 4-2) 17-5 in the period.
The Blue Devils made 24 of 32 foul shots and did not make a single three-pointer.
Andrew Francesconi did most of the heavy lifting for Tallmadge on offense. He finished with a game-high 27 points and was 17 of 20 at the free throw line.
Colten Stricker and Justin Cambria added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Blue Devils.
Austin Marciniak led Green with 26 points amd Kenton Keeslar added 11 points. The Bulldogs made just 7 of 12 foul shots.
Green earned a 56-30 win in the junior varsity contest.
