Following its first loss in six games, the Tallmadge girls basketball team wanted to get back on track Jan. 15 at home against Cuyahoga Falls.
The Blue Devils did just that.
Tallmadge exploded early and coasted to a 53-33 win over the Black Tigers at James O. Maddox Court.
Tallmadge improved to 10-4 on the season, while Falls dropped to 4-11.
Tallmadge took a lead of 24-7 after one quarter and never looked back. The Blue Devils led by as many as 31 points before coach Bill Johnson empties his bench.
Tallmadge was led by 15 points from senior Kirsten Lightel, who had five 3-pointers. Mary Ryan added 11 points and six rebounds for Tallmadge, while Kelsey Rice had seven points, eight assists and five steals.
Falls was led by Lexy Dietrich with 8 points.
