Tallmadge girls basketball beats Cloverleaf on Senior Night

The Tallmadge girls basketball team sent seniors Kelsey Rice, Mary Ryan and Kirsten Lightel out in style Feb. 12, as the Blue Devils defeated Cloverleaf in their home regular-season finale.

Following a 70-42 win over Mogadore at home Feb. 10, Tallmadge raced out to a big early lead and hung on for a 49-40 win over the Colts.

Tallmadge's record improved to 14-7, 6-7 in the Suburban League ahead of its regular-season finale Feb. 13 at Green.

The Blue Devils were on fire early, racing out to a 20-3 lead after one quarter. 

Cloverleaf never recovered from the early deficit, though the Colts cut it 43-37 late in the fourth quarter.

Tallmadge's outgoing seniors all had good nights. Lightel led all scorers with 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and four steals.

Rice had six points, nine rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots, while Ryan added eight points, six rebounds and three assists.

Tallmadge's other two starters, Olivia Ayres and Joanna Catalano, each finished with 10 points.

Senior guard Jessica Lindemeyer led the Colts with 10.
