The Tallmadge softball team improved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Suburban League after posting a 9-0 victory over Nordonia April 8 in Macedonia.
The Lady Knights dropped to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.
The Lady Blue Devils scored two runs in the first and third innings, once in the fifth and four times in the seventh. All of Tallmadge's runs were unearned.
Lady Blue Devils' right-hander Kirsten Lightel got the win on the mound to improve to 2-0. She finished with 12 strikeouts, while allowing only three hits — all to Nordonia first baseman Hannah Perrine.
Lightel walked three batters and hit another in the 126-pitch gem.
Right-hander Hannah Stroe took the loss on the mound. She allowed just five hits in 6-1/3 innings of work. She struck out two batters and issued just one walk.
The Lady Knights committed eight errors and had zero hits in 17 at bats with runners on base.
Tallmadge finished with five hits and four errors. Second baseman Lexi Philen scored four runs for the Lady Blue Devils.
Joanna Catalano had a single and drove in two runs and Nicolette Williams also had a run-scoring single for Tallmadge.
Perrine had two doubles and a single for Nordonia.
