The Tallmadge boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Austintown Fitch Division I regional meet May 21.
After the first day of competition, the girls were in ninth place with three points and the boys were in 12th place with six points.
The competition concludes May 23.
The boys' 3,200-meter relay team of Brian McGovern, Nick Murray, Zack Murray and Chris LaMancusa advanced to the Austintown Fitch regional meet, which is scheduled for May 28 and 30.
The team finished third with a time of 8 minutes, 6.5 seconds. The top four individuals in each event and the thop four relays teams qualified for the regional competition.
The girls' 3,200 relay team of Brin Stralka, Rochelle Haught, Mary Hillegas and Jacquelyn Brown just missed advancing to the regional competition after placing fifth (9:59.33).
Reaching the finals for the boys were the 800 relay of Logan Ray, Bobby Clark, Jimmy Aumont and Jordan Spano, McGovern in the 800, and the 1,600 relay team of McGovern, Aumont,Clark and Nick Murray.
Qualifying for finals for the girls' team were Brittney Harris and Emily Schott in the 100 hurdles, Rochelle Haught in the 300 hurdles, the 400 relay team of Emma Brown, Alexis Malish, Schott and Harris, the 800 relay team of Julia Schreck, Maddie Fairchild, Hallie Allen and Sadie Bennett, the 1,600 relay team of Allen, Bennett, Brin Stralka and Maddie Fairchild.
